Threshold Manifesto on Hitchcock

1.

  1. A threshold differentiates the two ends, the exterior and interior, the public and private, and the objective and the subjective.
  2. The visitors are vulnerable from both sides of the threshold.
  3. A threshold contains an enclosure / entrapment within.
  4. A threshold is a visual apparatus, a double sided aperture.
  5. A threshold does not specify its material.
  6. A threshold does not guarantee entry.
  7. A threshold does not guarantee return.
  8. A threshold could be as flat as a door or a direct opening on a wall.
  9. A threshold could have depth that encloses its own atmosphere.
  10. A threshold's depth can be extended in both ways.
  11. A threshold could be abstractly connected to another threshold.
  12. Crossing a threshold incurs dangers.
  13. Being at the proximity of a threshold might also expose the visitor to risk.
  14. Threshold crossing experiences is subjective.
